Facebook Pages have become very important forums for businesses to communicate with their customers and find their market. They also help people discover and learn about businesses and their products and services. Facebook Pages now bear more weight on SERPs, and with social sharing, a Facebook Page could likely be the first place a new potential customer discovers your business. This article explains how to manage your Facebook Page’s SEO, and how your SEO content and data can help enforce your business’ search results and web traffic.
Title and URL
When you choose the name for your Facebook Page, pick something that represents the business and will make your page easy to find. The best option is usually the name of your business. Facebook penalizes generic names, or names that are loaded with keywords, and aims for each page to represent an actual figure or business.

Between page metadata, pictures, and posts, there are many places within Facebook to build keywords for your site. Important keywords and phrases that should be worked into your page include your business name, address, and links to your relevant pages. But it’s also worth researching and understanding what words or phrases people might use to find your business.
Try to use the same set of keywords you use on your webpage, as this can help search engines establish connections between the name of your business and what services or products your business provides. This article provides a helpful step-by-step how-to on inputting keywords into Facebook.
You can also include keywords in your public posts. If it looks like you are spamming keywords (called keyword stuffing), you can be penalized, but if it makes sense to incorporate them in context, it’s a good idea to do so.
While Facebook does not have the option to input page metadata, per se, the “About Box” and “Info Tab” essentially fill the same role. Users can browse this information, but other than your basic info, most of it will not be predominantly displayed on your landing page.

Don’t just post on your own wall – try sharing helpful content on others’ pages (without spamming), or try contributing to their discussions as your business.
Depending on how you have your Facebook Page set up, most likely when you log in you will have the option to choose how you want to interact on Facebook. When you are signed into Facebook, you can log in as your page by clicking on the arrow button on the top right of the Facebook Dashboard, next to “Home.”
By setting up your relevant information properly on Facebook, and building on strong keywords, your page can become much easier for people to find, and it will also help search engines connect your business with your keywords.
