6 Weeks to January 1st. Is Your Company Ready?

Small Business CopywritingThis New Year, make a resolution to do everything possible to make your business the best it can be.  Like most resolutions, however, there are many things that need to be done in order to make it happen.  Resolving to better your company through careful planning and small business copywriting is a great way to ensure that your company gets off on the right foot when the calendar page turns.  Here are some helpful tips to get you started:

  • Check up on your vendors.  The start of the year is a great time to sit down and take stock of the various vendors and supply companies that you use to keep your business going.  Are they providing value for the money you are paying them?  For example, if you’ve got somebody in the wings that does small business copywriting for your company, are they truly providing the content that leads to conversions?
  • Staffing needs.  Depending on the size and scope of your business, you could have 0 employees or thousands.  It’s a good idea to start looking over the people on your payroll and figuring out if pay or incentives need to be adjusted.  Don’t forget about those end-of-year bonuses; it’s not all about saving every dime, it’s about making your employees and contractors satisfied enough to ensure that they’re doing a good job!
  • Equipment checks.  Many business owners get so bogged down in the everyday minutiae of operations that they don’t pay enough attention to the overall picture when it comes to equipment.  Make it a point this new year to really look hard at the equipment that you have and figure out if it’s optimized to serve your business—is your equipment up to date?  Are there other methods or machines that could be used to do the job better?  Evaluate your equipment now, and make a strategic plan to be enacted over the New Year.
